Collagen peptide in dental care

Collagen is used in dental root canal filling paste. Collagen-based dental resorbable membranes are used in the course of Guided tissue and Guided Bone Regeneration (GTR, GBR) which are well-established techniques in dentistry to augment lost tissue around teeth and dental implants respectively.

The bioabsorbable membranes, of natural (collagen) origin, are metabolized by hydrolysis or enzymatic activity respectively, and thus are completely resorbed over time, increasing patient comfort.

Collagen peptide for orthopaedic and sports injuries

Collagen is used as a bone graft substitute and added in bioceramics and other osteoconductive materials that are used in the regeneration and repair of bone. The addition of collagen in these materials encourages cell growth that is needed for tissue regeneration and improves the handling properties of the bone void filler including the spine.

Collagen scaffolds can be designed to mimic and regenerate native tissues and are being increasingly used in cartilage repair.
Resorbable membranes and wraps protect underlying tissues in the case of tendon trauma. Collagen tendon wraps are excellent materials for the repair of soft tissue, Achilles tendon, patellar tendon, biceps, quadriceps, and more.
